How does Passby notify me when I arrive at a place?

Passby gives you two trigger modes: Specific Places and Store Categories. For specific spots, drop a pin to establish an arrival zone. For Store Categories, select categories like Supermarkets, Pharmacies, or Parcel Lockers—Passby detects when you are nearby and alerts you right on your Lock Screen within 90–150m.

Why do Apple Reminders location alerts fail to trigger or arrive late?

Apple Reminders location alerts often fail to trigger or fire hours late because iOS deprioritizes background polling. Passby is engineered specifically for arrival fidelity using dedicated CoreLocation circular geofence monitoring with zero battery drain, interactive lock screen actions (Snooze 1h, Mark as Done), and shared partner spaces.

What is the difference between Specific Places and Store Categories?

A Specific Place is anchored to an exact address (e.g. your local dry cleaner or gym). A Store Category works across any store in that category (e.g. 'Any Supermarket' or 'Any Pharmacy')—you get alerted at whichever matching store you pass first.

Does Passby drain my iPhone battery?

No. Unlike navigation apps that continuously poll high-power GPS in the background, Passby offloads geofencing to iOS hardware-level subsystem monitoring. Your phone's GPS stays completely asleep until cell tower and Wi-Fi beacons confirm you are in the immediate vicinity.

Does Passby track or sell my location history?

No. Passby has a strict on-device privacy architecture. Arrival zones are evaluated locally on your iPhone. We never stream, log, or sell your live GPS coordinates or travel routes.

Can I share location reminders with my partner or family?

Yes. With Passby Shared Spaces, you can invite your partner. When either of you is near the grocery store or pharmacy, that person gets the reminder. As soon as they tap Mark as Done, it crosses off for both of you automatically.

How does Partner Sponsorship work?

If either you or your partner subscribes to Passby Pro, both of you automatically receive full Pro benefits inside your shared space. One subscription covers your household.

Is Passby free to download on the App Store?

Yes. Passby is free to download and includes 2 active places, 1 store category, and 1 shared partner list forever with zero ads. Optional in-app Pro unlocks unlimited places and store categories.
